Amharic Language

Amharic language also called Amarinya or Kuchumba, Amarinya also spelled Amharinya and Amarigna which is spoken specifically in the central highlands of the country

One of the African languages which comes under afro-Asiatic language of Semitic group spoken in North Central Ethiopia by the Amhara. It has been much influenced by the Cushitic language with which Amhara have been in close contact .After Arabic, it is the most spoken Semitic language in the world and the official working language of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Thus, it has official status and is used nationwide. Amharic is also their official or working language of several of the states within the federal system. Outside Ethiopia, Amharic is the language of some 2.7 million emigrants. It is Also the language of Ethiopian Orthodox church.
